"WOMAN IN THE FACE OF THE ENTREPRENEURIAL CHALLENGE"
The increase in the number of women involved in entrepreneurial initiatives, and their importance from an economic and social point of view, has been united with a growing interest in investigating the characteristics of the said phenomenon. The last global edition of the Report on Women and Entrepreneurship by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (Gem) in 2007 states that although the number of women involved in business activities is still lower than that of men, the female business sector has become a fundamental part of economic growth, the creation of employment and innovation. The Spanish Ministry of Equality's interest in the phenomenon also demonstrates how important it is for institutional policies.
